Senior Electrical Engineer - Oil & Gas

Responsibilities
Perform detailed design of all aspects of electrical power systems to include one-line diagrams, three-line diagrams, control and relaying schematics, wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, grounding design, general arrangement, selection of equipment, writing of equipment specifications, project and construction cost estimates, and project scheduling as they relate to Substations and other power projects
Prepare computer-based models and perform power system studies on utility and industrial/commercial electrical power transmission and distribution systems, including short circuit, load flow, relay coordination, arc flash, motor starting, power factor, harmonic analysis and other related studies. Employee should create a simple hand checks to quantify the computer aided results
Develop protective relay settings. Set, test, wire, and install relaying and control systems
Prepare a variety of documents and reports associated with projects including cost estimates, budget reports, proposals, and studies
Assist with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) as well as other commissioning activities
Provide field assistance and troubleshooting
Checking the work of designers, drafters, and field service personnel for general quality and accuracy as required
Understanding and applications of applicable Codes and Standards
Assists with client contacts and communication pertaining to specific assignments and meetings
Other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology from an accredited institution, electric power option preferred
5+ years of relevant engineering or field experience
FE is required; PE preferred
Knowledge and familiarity with medium and low voltage distribution
Base knowledge of Protection & Control Schemes
Knowledge and familiarity with substation electrical design
Proficiency with AutoCAD
Interaction with clients, customers, contractors and others
Possesses effective written and oral communications skills
Good interpersonal and people skills
Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis
