Regional Controller
TreeServe, LLC is seeking a Regional Controller to work on-site at their Jacksonville, FL headquarters, partnering closely with corporate leadership and operating company teams. The role is responsible for overseeing financial reporting, accounting operations, and internal controls across multiple operating companies, ensuring accurate financial reporting and strong controls to support business performance and growth.

Responsibilities
Prepare and oversee GAAP-compliant monthly financial statements, ensuring accurate and timely month-end close across supported operating companies
Provide meaningful financial reporting, analysis, and insights to TreeServe Corporate leadership, the Board of Directors, and local management teams
Ensure transaction processing systems are properly maintained, authorization controls are followed, and data integrity is maintained within QuickBooks, Sage, and other ERP systems
Lead and support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls, including ERP implementations and system conversions
Perform and review revenue recognition using percentage-of-completion and accrual accounting methodologies
Maintain consistent application of companywide accounting policies and reporting standards
Perform hands-on account reconciliations, including sub-ledger to general ledger tie-outs, and research and resolve accounting or system issues
Prepare and post journal entries including cash, accruals, prepaids, fixed assets, and other adjusting entries
Perform detailed balance sheet reconciliations, daily and monthly bank reconciliations, weekly payroll analysis, and intercompany eliminations and tie-outs
Provide financial support and guidance to Operating Company business managers, including payroll, operating expenses, revenue, gross margin analysis, and intercompany transactions
Deliver monthly financial reporting packages in accordance with TreeServe standards
Prepare ad hoc and recurring analyses related to sales, cost of sales, operating expenses, and operational performance
Support senior management with financial insights to drive strategic decision-making and business results
Serve as the primary point of contact for audit coordination, including preparation of PBC schedules and support for internal and external audits
Adapt quickly to changing priorities and add value in a fast-growing, entrepreneurial environment
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience
Strong understanding of the full accounting cycle, including AP, AR, payroll, bank reconciliations, accruals, revenue recognition, and percentage-of-completion accounting
Experience supporting multiple divisions or operating companies in a regional or shared-services model
ERP experience required
Proven ability to analyze financial results, reconciliations, and trends to ensure accurate and timely reporting
Demonstrated track record of adding value beyond traditional accounting functions through financial insight and process improvement
Prior experience leading, coaching, and mentoring accounting staff or cross-functional teams
Strong problem-solving skills, critical thinking ability, and capacity to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to manage multiple priorities, support several business units, and adapt as business needs change
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with executives, managers, and field employees
High ethical standards, integrity, accountability, and a results-driven mindset
Demonstrated leadership competencies including decision quality, action orientation, team building, and pride in performance
Preferred
startup or high-growth experience within the trade or construction-related industries strongly preferred
Accounting system conversion experience preferred
Experience with M&A integrations, system conversions, or rapid-growth environments preferred
Experience working with private equity–backed companies preferred
Familiarity with corporate structuring, legal documentation, and investor reporting a plus
