Responsibilities
Support the design, implementation, and monitoring of internal controls to protect assets, ensure accurate reporting, and maintain compliance with accounting standards and internal policies
Serve as a senior member of the accounting team, providing leadership coverage and continuity when needed
Assist with oversight of day-to-day accounting activities, including payables, receivables, payroll, general ledger, and operational cost tracking
Prepare and review periodic financial statements in accordance with GAAP, and coordinate audit readiness activities
Act as a primary point of contact for external auditors and support the annual audit process
Review operational and project-level financial reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely updates
Monitor cash position and support cash flow planning, forecasting, and banking relationships
Partner with operational and management teams to track costs, billings, and financial changes throughout the lifecycle of ongoing work
Identify and implement opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting, and system efficiency
Provide training, oversight, and guidance to accounting staff to support performance and development
Oversee administration of employee benefit programs and related compliance activities
Support retirement plan administration and required regulatory filings
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
Progressive accounting experience with demonstrated leadership responsibility in a senior accounting or assistant controller-level role
Strong understanding of operational accounting, WIP reporting, and percentage-based revenue recognition methodologies
Experience supporting external audits and working with financial institutions and third-party service providers
Proficiency with enterprise accounting systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including complex spreadsheet modeling and data analysis
Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills with the ability to collaborate across finance and operations teams
