Responsibilities

Teaching load may include undergraduate courses in environmental science, ecology, organismal biology, GIS, environmental policy and ethics, and the potential for electives within the candidate’s area of expertise. Typical load is 3-4 courses per semester (9-month contract, 24SH per year)
A tenure-track position requires the development of an ongoing, scholarly research agenda that can involve undergraduate students
Department and university service is expected in the form of advising and mentoring a diverse student body into a variety of science careers, with an emphasis on environmental science and environmental biology-focused majors
Provide faculty service to EMU at the departmental and university levels
Department and university service is expected in the form of advising and mentoring students and participation on university committees

A track record of active, inclusive, student-centered teaching is preferred
