Email Marketing Strategist - Associate

Optimite is seeking an Email Marketing Strategist - Associate with expertise in ecommerce and retention marketing. The role involves owning lifecycle strategy and execution across multiple ecommerce brands to enhance customer engagement and lifetime value through effective email and SMS strategies.

Responsibilities

Build, schedule, and deploy email and SMS campaigns and automated flows inside Klaviyo or similar ESPs
Maintain strong deliverability and error-free execution across all accounts
Follow standardized naming conventions, tagging, and audience segmentation best practices
Conduct test sends, fix rendering issues, and ensure accurate UTM parameters before every launch
Collaborate with designers and copywriters to ensure creative and copy align with campaign objectives
Develop retention and reactivation strategies — including welcome, win-back, post-purchase, and loyalty flows
Identify lifecycle touchpoints and recommend segmentation and personalization strategies to maximize engagement and revenue
Partner with brand and creative teams to design data-backed customer journeys for repeat purchases
Strategize and implement SMS, loyalty, referral, and subscription programs to deepen customer relationships
Track and report campaign and flow performance - open rates, CTR, CVR, revenue, deliverability, and retention KPIs
Identify patterns, test hypotheses (A/B testing), and continuously optimize messaging, design, and frequency
Share actionable insights and data-backed recommendations with brand strategists and client success teams
Maintain clean, well-structured flows and high data integrity across all client accounts

Required

3–5 years of experience in ecommerce lifecycle or retention marketing (email + SMS)
Hands-on experience with Klaviyo (required); experience with HubSpot, Braze, Iterable, or ActiveCampaign is a plus
Strong understanding of D2C customer lifecycle, segmentation, and personalization
Proven ability to manage multiple ecommerce brands simultaneously
Excellent attention to detail with strong ownership mindset
Analytical skills to interpret campaign performance and make data-driven decisions
Strong communication and project management skills for cross-functional coordination

Preferred

Experience with Shopify or other ecommerce platforms
Basic HTML knowledge for troubleshooting
Understanding of loyalty, subscription, and referral program mechanics
Background in 6- to 8-figure D2C brand strategy or agency experience
