Payroll Administrator

Barton & Loguidice is a consulting engineering firm serving municipal, industrial, and institutional clients. Responsibilities

Reviews the weekly payroll and all associated data and records. This includes reviewing paycheck calculations, review of the quarterly payroll returns, and annual review of employee Form W-2s and payroll tax return summaries
Reviews post-processing payroll reports
Provides all required payroll reports to Assistant Controller or Corporate Controller after each weekly payroll
Verifies payroll tax deposits
Creates ad-hoc payroll reports as required
Responds to routine employee inquiries concerning payroll deductions, self-service and accruals, wage garnishments, etc
Audits all employee insurance program including group medical, dental and vision programs, group life and long-term disability programs. Monitoring is maintained on a current basis to determine the validity of the amounts of the payroll deductions, to ensure the timeliness of payment to the insurance companies, to update coverages and to recommend changes as necessary
Maintains personnel and payroll database, including posting PTO accruals (including reconciliations between ERP and Payroll Systems)
Assists with 401(k) reporting and compliance, including annual nondiscrimination testing and other plan sponsor requirements

Required

A minimum of an A.S. degree in Accounting, Business Administration or a similar degree program
5-20 years of applicable payroll processing or administration experience is required
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to independently identify and bring forward issues
Capable of managing multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
