Responsibilities
Providing professional services work in the operation, maintenance, and repair of diesel and gas engines and auxiliary equipment on marine vessels
Monitoring all operating propulsion machinery and electrical generating facilities on-board vessels
Inspecting, adjusting, and maintaining machinery in accordance with established operational and safety standards
Performing security functions per the Maritime Transportation Security Act of 2002
Provides information and direction to the public as necessary
Familiar with Ferry Service Vessel’s and engine room operations
Licensed with the USCG as a third assistant engineer or greater or possess a DDE4,000 HP endorsement
Clean and maintain the engine room, auxiliary spaces and various other systems on the vessel
Performs other duties as required by immediate supervisor
Qualification
Required
Experience in the operation, maintenance, and repair of marine engines and auxiliary equipment
Must be familiar with Ferry Service Vessel's and engine room operations
Must be licensed with the USCG as a third assistant engineer or greater or possess a DDE4,000 HP endorsement
Clean and maintain the engine room, auxiliary spaces and various other systems on the vessel
Must be in possession of a valid TWIC or be able to get one within 30 days
Required to have a current TWIC Card - Transportation Worker Identification Credential Card
