Civil Litigation Paralegal
Ultimate Staffing is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Civil Litigation Paralegal to join their client's legal team. The ideal candidate will support attorneys through all phases of the civil litigation process, requiring strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Responsibilities
Assist attorneys in managing civil litigation cases from intake through resolution
Maintain case calendars, deadlines, and litigation timelines
Organize and manage case files, pleadings, and correspondence
Conduct legal research using Clio, NETdocs
Draft, proofread, and format legal documents, including:
Pleadings
Discovery requests and responses
Motions and supporting briefs
Subpoenas and affidavits
Assist with all aspects of the discovery process
Manage document production, including labeling, indexing, and Bates-stamping
Coordinate with clients, experts, and third parties to collect and organize evidence
Review and summarize depositions, medical records, and discovery responses
Prepare and organize trial notebooks, witness files, exhibit lists, and jury instructions
Assist in preparing demonstrative exhibits and coordinating technology needs
Provide onsite support during hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
Act as a liaison between clients, attorneys, court personnel, and external vendors
Schedule depositions, meetings, hearings, and court appearances
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information in compliance with legal standards
Qualification
Required
Paralegal certificate from an ABA‑approved program
5+ years of experience in civil litigation support
Strong knowledge of civil procedure and litigation processes
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management software
Excellent research, writing, and proofreading abilities
Strong time‑management skills and ability to handle competing deadlines
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational ability
Preferred
Associate's or Bachelor's degree
Experience with e‑filing in state and federal courts
Familiarity with e‑discovery platforms
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
