Responsibilities

Lead, coordinate, and oversee initiatives within the Permanency Planning Section
Provide leadership visioning for assigned content areas by identifying research, resources, service delivery trends, national issues, and stakeholder experts and organizations related to the topic
Work collaboratively with other subject matter experts, county departments of social services, private agencies, program managers, project staff, cross-sectional state staff, and national partners
Identify products, tools, web content, and publications aligned with the vision of the NC Division of Social Services and the child welfare field
Support the Permanency Planning management team by leading the coordination of section staff
Manage the contracts budget and resources needed to complete all deliverables on time and within budget
Lead the Diligent Recruitment and Retention efforts for the Permanency Section
Assist with the Permanency programs implementation and performance data in alignment with federal reporting including but not limited to Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System (AFCARS) reporting

Qualification

Required

Master's degree in a discipline relative to the program from an appropriately accredited institution and four years of related experience; or Bachelor's degree in a discipline relative to the program area from an appropriately accredited institution and six years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Strong facilitation skills
Broad knowledge of the public child welfare service continuum and child welfare policy and practice issues
Experience managing contracts budget and resources
Ability to lead the Diligent Recruitment and Retention efforts for the Permanency Section
Experience with performance data in alignment with federal reporting including but not limited to Adoption and Foster Care Analysis and Reporting System (AFCARS) reporting

Preferred

Experience working in child welfare foster care or adoption services programs
Knowledge of Child Welfare State and Federal laws
Experience with child welfare management experience with foster care or adoption services programs
Knowledgeable of Microsoft Applications including Access Database, Excel, Word, Power Point
