Manager, Learning Design and Faculty Training

Smith Chason College is seeking a Manager for Learning Design and Faculty Training to enhance teaching excellence across both on-ground and online modalities. This role involves leading faculty development initiatives, creating engaging learning experiences, and supporting continuous improvement in instructional quality.

Responsibilities

Support the development and continuous improvement of Smith Chason CME Portal courses, collaborating with internal stakeholders and subject matter experts to ensure instructional quality and alignment to learning outcomes
Apply adult learning principles and evidence-based instructional strategies to create engaging, measurable, and scalable CME learning experiences
Maintain organized course development workflows (intake, storyboarding, review cycles, QA, publishing) to support consistent output and quality standards
Support course updates and revisions based on learner feedback, performance data, regulatory changes, and institutional priorities
Manage the delivery of quarterly and monthly faculty development and CME-related webinars, including planning, scheduling, facilitation logistics, communications, and post-event evaluation
Partner with internal leaders and presenters to develop strong session objectives, outlines, learning activities, and supporting materials
Establish repeatable webinar processes (run-of-show, tech checks, recordings, resource distribution, attendance tracking, evaluation) to ensure a high-quality participant experience
Track participation and outcomes, and recommend improvements to increase engagement and impact over time
Develop and continuously improve the faculty onboarding experience, ensuring new faculty are prepared to teach effectively in Smith Chason’s modalities and learning technology environment
Provide continuous oversight of onboarding cohorts, including cohort communications, milestone tracking, and follow-up support
Create onboarding tools and resources (guides, templates, checklists, microlearning modules) that reinforce expectations and instructional standards
Partner with stakeholders to ensure onboarding aligns with institutional goals, compliance needs, and program requirements
Create additional faculty development-focused, module-style training solutions that are practical, measurable, and aligned to teaching competencies (e.g., lesson planning, active learning, assessment, clinical skills instruction, online facilitation, feedback practices)
Develop reusable templates and toolkits that enable consistent course and session quality across programs
Evaluate the effectiveness of faculty development offerings using survey feedback, participation metrics, and qualitative input, then iterate accordingly
Lead the creation of a Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) that educates faculty on best practices in both on-ground and online teaching modalities
Design a cohesive CTL program strategy including core teaching competencies, resource libraries, training pathways, and 'just-in-time' supports
Promote a culture of instructional excellence, continuous improvement, and faculty community through coaching, workshops, and modular learning opportunities
Serve as a consultative partner to faculty and academic leadership on course delivery challenges, learner engagement, assessment strategies, and inclusive teaching practices
Support the Continuous Learning group with learning design needs such as learning module development, instructional asset creation, and video editing/development
Use tools such as iSpring, Articulate Rise, Snagit, and Camtasia to produce high-quality learning materials aligned to brand and accessibility expectations
Assist with storyboarding, scripting, media production, and quality assurance to support timely, high-impact deliverables
Collaborate with academic leadership, subject matter experts, and operational partners to align faculty development and CME initiatives with institutional priorities
Establish and maintain clear documentation for processes, standards, and templates to support scale and continuity
Perform other duties as assigned in support of teaching excellence and Continuous Learning priorities

Required

Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Higher Education, Curriculum & Instruction, Nursing/Allied Health Education, or a related field
Demonstrated experience leading faculty development, teaching and learning initiatives, instructional design, or professional education programming in higher education or healthcare education/training environments
Experience designing and delivering professional development in multiple formats (workshops, webinars, cohort experiences, self-paced modules)
Working knowledge of learning science, adult learning theory, and evidence-based teaching practices for both in-person and online modalities
Strong proficiency with learning technologies and rapid development tools, including: iSpring (LMS experience required), Articulate Rise, TechSmith Snagit/Camtasia (screen capture, video editing, production workflows)
Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, stakeholders, deadlines, and review cycles simultaneously
Excellent facilitation, communication, and consulting skills with the ability to coach and influence faculty and cross-functional partners
Comfort working with data and feedback (participation metrics, evaluations, qualitative insights) to continuously improve programming
High degree of professionalism, discretion, and service orientation when supporting faculty and institutional initiatives
