Operations Support Technician

The American Legion is seeking an Operations Support Technician to assist in the configuration, installation, and maintenance of desktop computer equipment. Responsibilities

Configure, install and maintain desktop computer equipment:
Participate in research, testing and selection of corporate computer hardware and peripheral equipment
Participate in development and maintenance of images for standard computer hardware
Build, configure and install end user devices
Maintain and assure adherence to desktop standards and policies
Initiate and coordinate preventative maintenance schedule for computer equipment
Maintain inventory stock of corporate computer and peripheral equipment
Liaison with vendors for hardware warranty and maintenance repairs
Record and maintain information in the help desk ticketing system
Analyze and provide solutions for a wide range of IT related problem reports, questions, and requests. Escalate help desk calls to the appropriate level of IT support for resolution when necessary:
Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, peripheral and software configuration issues.Research and document problem resolutions
Liaison with IT staff and end users to ensure successful, timely resolution of problem reports and requests
Consult with end users and perform initial analysis of requests for enhancement or development of automated applications
Assist remote users during normal work hours and off hours
Assist with support of LAN/WAN, telephony and serve on various project teams as required
Maintain meeting room equipment and assist users in using those systems
Understanding of video and audio routing methods
Work with industry standard video display systems
Assist users with vitual and local meeting booking procedures
Work with the Network Systems Manager and engineers in managing all hardware and peripheral assets
Assist other technical services team members as necessary
Other duties as assigned

Required

Two years of college or equivalent IT experience, technical or specialized schooling to have a thorough knowledge of vocation theory and principles
Must be proficient in providing technical support for the Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft Office products at the desktop level, at and efficient at supporting same as server levels
Must have a working knowledge of switches, routers and TCP/IP protocol
Must be proficient in supporting personal computers in both the Microsoft and Apple platforms
Must be familiar with Active Directory and Azure Active Directory
Must demonstrate above standard customer service skills
Must have 2+ years' experience in supporting computer hardware
3 years up to 5 years of experience

Preferred

Supervisory and/or team leader experience
Knowledge of project management concept
