Responsibilities
Take high-level goals and ambiguous requirements, break them into a clear plan, drive execution end-to-end with minimal oversight, and proactively communicate progress, risks, and tradeoffs (written and verbal) across engineering, product, and stakeholders
Use AI (ChatGPT/Co-Pilot/Perplexity/AI-native IDEs/Google, etc.) extensively and naturally to research, design, develop, and test solutions to meet business and product goals
Build and ship AI-powered features: agentic workflows, RAG, tool-calling assistants, deterministic AI-to-SQL, and reliability guardrails/evals
Develop and maintain Python/FastAPI services (including async/streaming endpoints where needed)
Build and operate retrieval/data layers for AI (chunking, embeddings, indexing, reranking, caching) across structured + unstructured sources
Collaborate with product and data teams to deliver user-facing AI workflows and internal platform capabilities
Improve operability: logging, metrics, alerting, runbooks, and incident response hygiene
Qualification
Required
Python with FastAPI for building and operating production AI services (async + streaming where needed)
LLM application engineering: agentic workflows, tool calling, RAG, and grounding against business data
Multi-agent orchestration best practices: tool interfaces/contracts, planning vs execution separation, error handling, retries/timeouts, state management, and deterministic output formats
Evals/reliability: measuring quality, reducing hallucinations, and optimizing latency/cost with versioned prompts
Docker: building and shipping images; working with registries and runtime configuration
Production ownership: ability to debug across app + data layers using logs/metrics and improve reliability over time
Experience building multi-tenant SaaS patterns (tenant isolation, RBAC, per-tenant config, auditability) and security best practices (secrets hygiene, safe data access boundaries)
Preferred
AWS and EKS experience shipping and operating production services
Kubernetes fundamentals: Deployments/Services/Ingress, requests/limits, probes, HPA/PDB, and hands-on debugging with kubectl
FluxCD GitOps workflows: sources, reconciliation, dependencies, HelmRelease/Kustomizations, drift management
Terraform: modules, environments/workspaces, remote state, and building/operating cloud infrastructure
AI-to-SQL and analytics agent experience (safe, deterministic query generation; schema grounding)
