Environmental Program Consultant

They are seeking an Environmental Program Consultant to oversee the assessment and remediation of contaminated dry-cleaning sites, providing technical guidance and administrative oversight while communicating with the public regarding these environmental issues.

Responsibilities

Provide technical oversight and guidance on DSCA sites where assessment, remediation and other activities are being performed by an independent contractor hired by the DSCA program
Provide administrative and technical oversight of contractor activities including review of work plans, reports, invoices, and other documents
Provide analysis and evaluation of scientific and technical data on a site-specific basis
Review and provide risk documentation to the risk assessor and work with the contractor to address any risk-based remediation issues
Assist Supervisor with the development of policies, guidance and procedures related to the assessment, remediation, or closure of sites in the DSCA Program
Communicate pertinent technical and general information regarding sites and the DSCA program to the public and interested parties

Required

Master's degree in one of the agricultural, biological, engineering, environmental or natural resource sciences or a closely related curriculum from an appropriately accredited institution
Three years of experience related to the area of assignment
Ability to provide technical oversight and guidance on DSCA sites
Ability to provide administrative and technical oversight of contractor activities
Ability to analyze and evaluate scientific and technical data on a site-specific basis
Ability to review and provide risk documentation to the risk assessor
Ability to assist Supervisor with the development of policies, guidance and procedures
Ability to communicate pertinent technical and general information regarding sites and the DSCA program to the public and interested parties
