Responsibilities

Prepare and review customs documentation, including import and export declarations, commercial invoices, packing lists, and other required customs paperwork
Coordinate and oversee customs clearance processes, including classification, valuation, and duty/tax determination
Determine the correct tariff classification of goods based on their characteristics and composition
Ensure compliance with customs laws, regulations, and procedures by staying up-to-date with changes in customs requirements and implementing necessary measures to maintain compliance
Maintain effective communication and collaboration with internal stakeholders, such as procurement, logistics, and sales teams, to gather necessary information and resolve customs-related issues
Identify and assess potential customs compliance risks and develop and implement mitigation strategies to minimize exposure
Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and efficiency gains in customs operations

Required

Brokerage experience is required
Proficiency in all Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate customs regulations and resolve customs-related issues
Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams, customs authorities, and external partners
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Preferred

Experience in customs operations, customs brokerage, or trade compliance within the logistics or supply chain industry preferred
