Merchandise Assistant
Dillard's is a retail company seeking a Merchandise Assistant for their Intimate Apparel division. The role involves supporting Buyers and Assistant Buyers in inventory management, vendor profitability analysis, and providing administrative support while preparing for advancement to an Assistant Buyer position.
Responsibilities
Assists in monitoring industry trends and in evaluating competition. Provides data for the development of the merchandise strategy, including product selection and product and key item development
Assists in setting up new items and updating existing items in internal database. Assists in entering and maintaining price changes in a timely manner. Monitors all permanent price changes to ensure stores have completed, following up where needed
Responsible for entering and maintenance of purchase orders, working independently to track merchandise and troubleshoot shipping issues
Prepares, maintains and updates weekly, monthly, seasonal sales reports on best/worst sellers, aged inventory, as well as vendor and class performance—to be provided to Buyers/team in a timely manner
Executes returns to vendors as negotiated and necessary
Ensures the resolution of data integrity (on hand) issues
Maintain professional communication with executives within the Dillard’s organization and external vendors
Qualification
Required
Self-starter, highly motivated individual
Strong organizational skills
Ability to prioritize and multi-task with minimal supervision
