Responsibilities
Identify capital needs related to Baader systems, conveyance, and plant automation
Develop business cases including ROI, gap analysis, and risk assessment
Partner with the Capital Projects team to plan and execute large-scale installations
Act as technical lead on cross-functional project teams for major equipment initiatives
Design and oversee preventive maintenance programs for Baader machines, electrical systems, and conveyance equipment
Align maintenance strategies with production demands
Establish standards, procedures, and performance benchmarks for equipment care
Drive operational KPIs, including:
Machine yield and throughput
Downtime reduction
Preventive maintenance effectiveness
Fish sizing consistency
Automation and labor optimization
Lead installation and commissioning of new Baader systems and plant upgrades
Set clear engineering goals aligned with enterprise strategy
Build a culture of continuous improvement across all sites
Partner with HR on workforce planning and team structure
Create and manage rotation plans for engineering staff
Deploy engineering talent across locations to maximize operational efficiency
Maintain compliance with safety and environmental standards
Report operational risks and safety concerns
Travel frequently to Alaska and other facilities as required
Qualification
Required
10+ years in manufacturing or industrial engineering, including automation and maintenance leadership
Direct experience managing technical teams
Proven success delivering capital projects with ROI and risk frameworks
Hands-on exposure to industrial processing equipment; Baader systems experience is strongly preferred
Food industry: 5 years (Required)
Baader or similar Machine: 3 years (Required)
Willingness to travel: 50% (Required)
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related discipline
Experience in seafood processing or Alaska fisheries environments
Ability to Relocate: Seattle, WA 98101: Relocate before starting work (Preferred)
