Responsibilities
Respond to chapter administrative requests in a timely manner and direct chapter leaders to the appropriate support
Train and support chapter leaders on administrative functions, such as member retention, fundraising, finances, operations, and more
Liaise with chapters on compliance, flagging potential issues as they arise, and connecting chapters with resources and DSA’s Compliance Officer as needed
Work with the Chapter Project Coordinator to carry out chapter grant and matching funds programs
Support chapters in fundraising, scholarships, and other financial assistance for national events
Provide support for national events as needed
Respond to membership requests in a timely manner
Create membership renewal text and phone banks and assist with outreach
Coordinate dues drives on the national level and provide guidance and support for chapters on the local level
Work with the Development Director as needed on fundraising initiatives, including end of year fundraising
Perform other duties as needed
Qualification
Required
Ability to work effectively with members from varying political viewpoints underneath DSA's big tent
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a non-traditional leadership structure, adapting to changing political conditions and organizational needs
High level of accountability, responsibility, and dependability
Ability to travel on occasion
Commitment to democratic socialist, feminist, anti-racist, anti-ableist, anti-heterosexist and pro-worker action, and identify as a socialist and be grounded in democratic socialist politics; general agreement with the positions and perspectives of DSA
Preferred
3 years experience in a related field
Experience working in a membership-led organization and/or with member leaders that direct the work
