Associate Director Facilities Capital Projects & Trades

The Universities of Wisconsin is seeking an experienced leader to join the Housing Facilities team as an Associate Director Facilities Capital Projects & Trades. This role involves overseeing all capital planning and operational trades work, assisting with the management of the Facilities operation, and developing documentation for standards related to project and trades work to enhance the living and dining experience for staff and residents.

Responsibilities

Assists in developing and auditing multiple project or program budgets
Develops and directs planning of one or multiple facilities or projects to foster innovative solutions meeting the needs of an academic or research institution
Exercises supervisory authority, including hiring, transferring, suspending, promoting, managing conduct and performance, discharging, assigning, rewarding, disciplining, and/or approving hours worked of at least 2.0 full-time equivalent (FTE) employees
Assists with the development, execution, and utilization of strategic planning analysis to determine long term institutional needs and develop sustainable solutions
Assists with the development of operating policies and procedures to comply with regulations, best practices, and institutional objectives
Oversees capital planning and execution of projects for residence halls, dining and apartment units. Develops and implements communications plan for all project work in collaboration with campus and divisional partners

Required

5 – 10 years of progressively responsible experience in facility planning, capital projects, or a combination of design, construction and facilities operations
3 – 5 years of supervisory experience of full-time direct reports

Preferred

Experience with capital project delivery and development of budget with responsible projects
Knowledge of building operations and building codes
Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills (verbal and written)
