Programmer Analyst
County College of Morris is seeking a Programmer Analyst to define and analyze college ERP systems issues and implement solutions. The role involves working closely with college employees to translate needs into system specifications and maintaining mission-critical business applications.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, implement, test, and support workflow, automation, and programming within and between ERP and ancillary systems
Develop internal working relationships in order to effectively communicate and support client needs. Partner with college employees to analyze and define business requirements and functional specifications and recommend solutions. Perform functional application setup, configuration, and testing with employees
Develop and maintain system documentation of issues and solutions resolved through troubleshooting tickets assigned through the college’s Solution Center
Perform project management functions by scheduling and conducting a variety of meetings necessary to complete projects. Participate in meetings and/or serve on assigned committees
Communicate issues, critical problems and situations to appropriate managers, both users and IS. Identify and resolve data, reporting and other application systems problems. Communicate solutions to users in an effective and efficient manner
Qualification
Required
Minimum of two years programming or combination of programming and systems analysis
High level of competence in at least one programming language
Familiarity with operating systems, SQL, and reporting tools
Experience with ETL technologies; strong knowledge of SQL programming and relational database technologies
Proficiency in coding, testing, documentation, and system troubleshooting
Experience with Ellucian Colleague or other ERP systems, including user account setup and maintenance, system configuration, troubleshooting and resolving application issues, and supporting business operations across student, financial, HR, and payroll modules
Experience with SAP BusinessObjects, including designing, developing, and maintaining reports and dashboards; ability to translate business requirements into meaningful data visualizations; and strong understanding of report scheduling, distribution, and performance optimization
Working knowledge of the Microsoft 365 suite of products, including proficiency with Word, and Excel, as well as experience using SharePoint for collaboration and Power Automate for workflow automation
A Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field required
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written)
Ability to work effectively in a team environment while also being self-directed and independent
Customer-focused approach with the ability to provide excellent service to administrators, faculty, staff, and students
Ability to train and support end-users in technical processes
Reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to ensuring smooth business operations
Preferred
Experience developing or maintaining integrations with third-party applications is a plus
