Responsibilities

Serve as Engineer-of-Record for complex load ratings and structural evaluations
Lead the quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) process for load rating calculations
Perform advanced structural analysis using finite element modeling (FEM) for complex bridges
Manage load rating projects, task orders, and budgets
Mentor junior engineers in analysis techniques and software applications
Coordinate with inspection teams to correlate field conditions with analytical models

Required

8 to 15 years of experience in the structural analysis, load rating, and evaluation of vehicular bridges for various local, county, state, and federal clients
Professional Engineer (PE) license with ability to obtain licensure in other states through comity
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly related to technical topics
Willing to travel up to 20% of the time, nationally
Physically capable of performing occasional field verification tasks

Preferred

Structural Engineer (SE) license
Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
Advanced proficiency in AASHTOWare Bridge Rating (BrR), LARSA 4D, SAP2000, CSI Bridge, and MDX
Experience with the load rating of complex structures (trusses, curved steel, arches)
FHWA Safety Inspection of In-Service Bridges NHI-130055 Course
Working knowledge of MicroStation/AutoCAD
