Data Analyst

The Data Analyst role involves monitoring data quality and program performance, developing processes for effective data management, and supporting data-informed decision-making within the organization.

Responsibilities
Prepares monthly reports summarizing program data with Program Director and senior management
Provides monthly performance reports to government/funding agencies
Provides ongoing reports on program data and identifies any trends or issues to share with senior management
Monitors external database compliance
Monitors and evaluates information and data systems on a regular basis
Assists program leadership with data quality management
Develops and implements procedures for effective data management
Creates rules and procedures for program data sharing
Interprets program data and analyzes the results
Develops program data analytics to optimize the efficiency and quality of the data being collected
Filters and “cleans” program data by reviewing reports and performance indicators to check the efficiency of the data collection processes in place
Works with management to prioritize organizational needs and identify new processes that will improve existing systems and define new opportunities
Works closely with program management to ensure program data complies with funding agency, regulatory agency, and Urban Pathways laws, regulations, policies, procedures, and guidelines
Monitors both new government/funding agency laws and regulations and changes in existing government/funding agency laws and regulations. Modifies data standards and procedures accordingly
Engages in an ongoing review of data collection processes to ensure efficiency, content, software utilization, etc. and ensures appropriateness and compliant with industry best practice levels
Works closely with the Compliance team to conduct Internal and external database training as needed
Analyzes and evaluates overall effectiveness of data collection processes
Performs data validation and quality control checks to ensure adherence with funding agency, regulatory agency, and Urban Pathways data standards
Performs all other duties as assigned and as required
Ensures timely and accurate submission of data and reports
Manage data entry and reporting platforms (e.g., AWARDS, Excel, statistical packages)
Assist with grant applications by providing evaluation data, outcomes analysis, and projected impact metrics
Ensures compliance with all Urban Pathways, regulatory, and funding agency requirements regarding data analysis
Communicates effectively, both verbally and in writing, in a professional manner
Facilitates and attends meetings, training, and supervisory sessions
Respond promptly to communications, including phone calls, emails, and written inquiries
Develops and maintains relationships with community service providers, housing authorities, and public health professionals to facilitate a coordinated response
Represents Urban Pathways at community meetings, forums and responds to inquiries as needed
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required
Experience working with unhoused individuals or populations with complex needs (mental health, substance use, etc.)
Strong knowledge of community resources, housing programs, and social services in NYC
Computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Outlook, etc.)
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and crisis intervention skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding ethical standards in delivery service
Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, lift (up to 25 lbs.)
Desire to perform the essential functions of this job
Comfortable with using public transportation to travel to and from various programs sites
Preferred
Associate's degree preferred
Bi/Multi-lingual a plus
