Electrical VDC/BIM Engineer
Tri-City Electrical Contractors, Inc. is dedicated to achieving excellence through the growth of employee-owners. The VDC Engineer operates Virtual Design and Construction by producing technically accurate shop drawings and assists with document management while attending coordination meetings.
Construction
Responsibilities
Work with VDC systems (Revit, Bluebeam, Navisworks)/BIM coordination, creating, modifying, and releasing drawings
Coordinate with and consult with other team members to design or layout detailed components and to resolve design or other problems
Self-check your own work for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with standards
Work from drawings, sketches, scanned images, customer drawings, or government drawings or specifications
Attend project meetings and provide information about the status of requested designs
Develop detailed design drawings using REVIT
Review and analyze specifications, sketches, drawings, ideas, and related information
Produce mark-up drawings for layout purposes using Bluebeam
Create prefabrication drawings
Modify and revise designs to correct inefficiencies or to reduce production problems
Qualification
Required
Minimum one (1) year of related previous experience
Proficient in VDC systems using Revit and Navisworks
Strong computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Office products (Bluebeam, Access, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Ability to understand architectural and structural drawings
High School Diploma or GED
Ability to read, write, and communicate in English at a minimum 12th-grade level
Preferred
Bilingual
Electrical background
Experience as a commercial electrician
Graduate from a college or university with an Associate Degree in Computer Aided Drafting Technology (or equivalent)
