Responsibilities
Reads job specifications, including blueprints, to determine machine adjustments and materials required
Sets up, adjusts, and operates saw room equipment, including band saws, and an electric pallet stacker
Loads and unloads graphite material; Weights vary according to jobs
Verifies material against the job traveler by sight and measurement
Utilizes hand tools and measuring devices to ensure accurate work
Verifies dimensions of finished workpiece using measuring devices
Meets fast-paced productivity goals and quality standards
Inspects warehouse and manufacturing equipment to ensure they are functioning properly and in good condition
Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the supervisor
Checks email to ensure effective intra- and inter-department communication
Participates in team meetings
Provides other warehouse area support, including special assignments, as needed
Maintains a clean, well-organized work environment as it applies to the job or to the general work area
Maintains a safe work environment and operates within OSHA/MIOSHA guidelines
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or GED
One to two years of experience working with a band saw
Valid Driver's License/Chauffer's License
Ability to operate a band saw correctly and safely
Ability to obtain and maintain a forklift license
Basic math proficiency, including conversion of decimals to fractions
Ability to take orders, meet targets, and work efficiently
An independent self-starter; able to maintain production standards with minimal supervision
Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
Ability to follow directions and work cooperatively with the team
A “can-do” attitude
Availability to work overtime as needed, including weekends and holidays
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook
Ability to maintain attendance standards
Preferred
One to two years of experience working with a band saw
