Walmart Inc. is seeking a Security Automation Engineer to help design, implement, and modernize automation for their Endpoint security infrastructure. This role focuses on automating deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management of EDR solutions while ensuring operational efficiency and security across diverse platforms.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain automation for the deployment, configuration, and ongoing management of EDR platforms
Develop automation to support everyday tasks such as password rotations, certificate management
Build workflows to automate infrastructure maintenance, including routine health checks, upgrades, and operational validation
Implement solutions to enforce configuration standards using templates or baselines, and monitor for configuration drift over time
Integrate automation with varying security platforms using RESTful APIs
Administer and troubleshoot Linux and Windows systems that support automation and security tooling
Develop and maintain Python-based automation scripts and services, applying best practices for logging, error handling, and maintainability
Read and interpret API documentation and integrate with internal and external services
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines for automation and infrastructure code
Use Git-based workflows for version control, collaboration, and code reviews
Partner with cross-functional engineering and security teams to deliver reliable, scalable solutions
Create and maintain technical documentation to support operational teams and ongoing improvements

Required

Strong foundation in Python
System administration skills
Software development fundamentals
Experience with automation for deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management of EDR solutions
Ability to build scalable endpoint solutions with Infrastructure as Code
Experience with automating system reporting
Comfortable working across systems, networks, and APIs
Experience administering and troubleshooting Linux and Windows systems
Ability to develop and maintain Python-based automation scripts and services
Experience reading and interpreting API documentation
Experience contributing to CI/CD pipelines for automation and infrastructure code
Experience using Git-based workflows for version control, collaboration, and code reviews
Ability to create and maintain technical documentation
