Systems Software Programmer
AppleOne Employment Services is seeking a Senior Systems Software Programmer to join the Application Development team for a prominent South Carolina State Agency. This role is critical for a major infrastructure migration project, focusing on the analysis, design, and implementation of agency software systems while leading data migrations and providing technical support.
Responsibilities
Software Development: Design, maintain, and support applications, specifically those assisting the Bureau of Water
Migration Leadership: Identify dataflows and technical dependencies to ensure a seamless migration from legacy infrastructure
Quality Assurance: Execute manual and automated testing to ensure the reliability and security of all applications
Collaboration: Work closely with business analysts, stakeholders, and technical teams to gather requirements and polish system documentation
Qualification
Required
8+ years of experience with government IT projects as a software developer or engineer
8+ years of experience building and optimizing SQL statements and stored procedures
3+ years of experience supporting Water Quality/Safety Information Systems, preferably in a government setting
Technical Proficiency: Working knowledge of ASP.NET, .NET, C#, HTML, and CSS
Process Knowledge: Strong familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and software security best practices
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
Preferred
Experience with SDWIS, Water Quality Exchange (WQX), SWIFT, or DW-SFTIES
Hands-on experience with Apache Tomcat and Java
Prior collaboration with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)
Leadership experience in technical teams and effort estimation for large-scale projects
