Project Manager - EPIC Beaker AP
Catapult Solutions Group is seeking an experienced Epic Beaker AP Project Manager to lead the implementation of the Epic Beaker Anatomic Pathology module at a major academic medical center. The role involves coordinating cross-functional teams, managing the project from kickoff through go-live, and ensuring successful adoption of the new system while maintaining operational excellence in the pathology department.
Responsibilities
Lead all phases of the Epic Beaker AP implementation from project kickoff (March 2026) through go-live and stabilization (December 2026)
Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines, resource allocations, and risk mitigation strategies
Coordinate with clinical pathology staff to document current workflows and design optimal future-state processes
Facilitate build sessions, testing cycles, and validation activities with Epic analysts and clinical super users
Manage vendor relationships and ensure Epic best practices are followed throughout the implementation
Conduct regular status meetings with project stakeholders and executive leadership to communicate progress and address issues
Develop and execute training strategies to ensure successful end-user adoption
Travel onsite to Boston approximately once per month for kickoff, milestone meetings, and significant project events
Identify and resolve project risks, issues, and dependencies in a timely manner
Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards and are completed within scope, budget, and timeline
Qualification
Required
Epic Beaker AP (Anatomic Pathology) certification is mandatory
Proven experience as a Project Manager on Epic Beaker AP implementations from planning through go-live
Strong understanding of anatomic pathology laboratory workflows and clinical operations
Demonstrated expertise in project management methodologies, tools, and best practices
Experience managing cross-functional healthcare IT projects in hospital or academic medical center environments
Excellent communication skills with ability to translate technical concepts for clinical audiences
Strong organizational skills with ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously
Willingness and ability to travel onsite to Boston, MA approximately once per month
Experience with change management and end-user training in healthcare settings
Proficiency with project management software and collaboration tools
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Technology, Life Sciences, or related field required
Preferred
Location in Boston, MA or surrounding Greater Boston area strongly preferred
East Coast candidates also considered
Master's degree preferred
Additional Epic certifications in other Beaker modules (LIS, Microbiology, Blood Bank)
PMP or comparable project management certification
Experience working in academic medical centers or teaching hospitals
Background in laboratory science or clinical pathology
Familiarity with CAP (College of American Pathologists) accreditation requirements
Experience with Epic upgrades or optimization projects
Existing relationships with Boston-area healthcare institutions
