Tank Wash Facility Manager

Depot Connect International (DCI) is a global leader in the Tank/ISO Tank Container Services and Tank Trailer Parts industry. The Tank Wash Manager is responsible for the start-up, commissioning, and ongoing operation of a newly constructed, food-grade tank wash facility, ensuring operational, safety, quality, and financial leadership.

Responsibilities

Lead commissioning and operational readiness of a new-build tank wash facility, including utilities, equipment, and wash systems
Develop, implement, and enforce SOPs, SWIs, and work instructions supporting food-grade and kosher-compliant operations
Transition the facility from start-up operations to full 24/7 staffing and production
Ensure reliable throughput, on-time service, and customer satisfaction
Ensure all washing activities meet or exceed food-grade and kosher wash standards, customer requirements, and regulatory expectations
Maintain compliance with FDA, FSMA, AIB, SQF, customer, and Rabbinical (Kosher) authority requirements
Manage kosher wash procedures including segregation, validation washes, temperature controls, documentation, and seal integrity
Coordinate and support Rabbinical supervision or certification processes as required by customers
Oversee allergen control, cross-contamination prevention, wash verification, and corrective actions
Lead customer audits, kosher inspections, and quality-related corrective action plans
Maintain operational oversight of boiler systems, including safety, inspections, chemical treatment, and regulatory compliance
Oversee water treatment, reclaim, discharge, and environmental compliance systems
Coordinate preventive maintenance and vendor support for utilities and wash infrastructure
Ensure high equipment uptime and efficient utility usage
Ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental, and local/state regulatory requirements
Lead safety programs including confined space, lockout/tagout, chemical handling, and emergency response
Promote a strong safety culture through training, audits, and continuous improvement
Recruit, hire, train, and develop wash attendants, supervisors, and maintenance personnel
Train staff on food-grade and kosher wash requirements, documentation standards, and segregation protocols
Establish staffing models, shift schedules, and on-call coverage to support 24/7 operations
Conduct performance reviews, coaching, and corrective action as required
Manage site operating budget including labor, utilities, chemicals, maintenance, and overhead
Track and improve KPIs such as wash throughput, labor efficiency, utility consumption, safety performance, and quality metrics
Identify cost savings, efficiency improvements, and capacity expansion opportunities
Support pricing, forecasting, and operational planning initiatives
Serve as the primary on-site leader and point of contact for customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders
Communicate operational performance, risks, and improvement plans to senior leadership
Lead by example with flexibility, accountability, and a hands-on leadership approach

Required

Minimum 7–10 years of experience in tank wash, food-grade processing, or related industrial operations
Proven expertise in food-grade and kosher road tanker washing
Working knowledge of boiler operations and water treatment systems
Demonstrated experience hiring, training, and managing teams in a multi-shift or continuous operation
Strong understanding of safety, environmental, food-grade, and kosher compliance requirements
Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays

Preferred

Experience working directly with Rabbinical authorities or kosher certification agencies
Boiler operator certification or equivalent experience
Wastewater or water treatment certification
Experience launching or stabilizing a new or greenfield operation
Experience operating in a 24/7 manufacturing or processing environment
Lean, continuous improvement, or operational excellence training
