Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of the prosecution process, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations
Develop and implement strategies to effectively prosecute criminal cases
Provide guidance and supervision to assistant prosecutors and legal staff
Review case files, evidence, and legal documents to prepare for trial
Represent the District Attorney's Office in court proceedings, including hearings and trials
Collaborate with law enforcement agencies, victim advocates, and other stakeholders to ensure successful prosecution outcomes
Conduct legal research and stay updated on changes in criminal law and procedure
Maintain accurate records and documentation related to cases and prosecutions
Handle sensitive and high-profile cases with professionalism and integrity
Serve as a liaison between the District Attorney's Office and the community, promoting transparency and accountability
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
Admission to the Arizona State Bar and eligibility to practice law in the state of Arizona
Minimum of 8 years of experience as an attorney, with 4 years as a prosecutor (felony criminal cases), and at least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role
Some experience in federal Indian law
In-depth knowledge of criminal law, court procedures, and rules of evidence
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and mentor a team
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines
High ethical standards and a commitment to upholding justice and fairness
Preferred
Experience handling complex and high-profile criminal cases preferred
Residency or willingness to relocate to Sun Lakes, Arizona
