Responsibilities
Assist in the installation and/or construction of bulkheads, ceiling panels, doors, trim, windows, rails, and hardware
Install insulation in compartment floors, ceilings, or interior/exterior walls
Use tools and equipment efficiently and safely for daily activities
Apply caulking to windows, doors, wash basins, and toilet and shower modules
Install adhesives, tiles, and carpeting in compartments
Review compartment blueprints and sketches to assist in installations
Assist in electrical work such as sizing, strapping, and pulling of cable, installation, and hook-ups on all lights, switches, equipment, and power panels
Qualification
Required
Experience in shipyard or construction is required
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and drawings
Mechanically inclined with familiarity in joinery, carpentry, and insulation
Competence in using hand and power tools
Preferred
Prior experience installing bulkheads, ceilings, doors, windows, stairs, and furniture in marine structures preferred
Candidates from the construction industry or with sheet metal experience are ideal
