Responsibilities
Lead the design and development of training device electrical systems and components, ensuring they meet project specifications and requirements
Analyze and assess operational systems to assist in the design and test of training device systems
Utilize advanced engineering principles to create innovative solutions for complex electrical, software, and mechanical integration challenges
Coordinate with cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate electrical designs with software and other training device system components
Develop and implement testing protocols to assess the functionality and reliability of training device electrical systems
Familiarity integrating electrical engineering concepts with software interfaces and design
Design for maintainability
Execute through analysis of the design, detailed drawing creation, and system installation while managing cost, scope, and schedule of the design
Document and creating electrical schematics in support of training system design
Develop and implement testing strategies to validate system functionality and performance
Analyze test results and implement necessary modifications to optimize system performance
Support training system design, development, testing, installation and operation
Assist the design and integration of complex systems, ensuring they meet all technical and operational requirements
Develop system architectures and frameworks that support project goals and objectives
Analyze and derive requirements
Conduct thorough analysis of system requirements, translating them into detailed specifications and actionable plans
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure all requirements are accurately captured and addressed
Lead technical reviews and assessments to ensure system designs meet quality and performance standards
Drive innovation by exploring new technologies, and methodologies to improve training device system designs
Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the engineering team
Collaborate with stakeholders, including clients and vendors, to understand project needs and deliver solutions
Communicate effectively with team members and management to report on project progress and challenges
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a STEM field and a minimum of 8 years of related experience or a Master's degree in STEM and a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience or 4 years with a Ph.D
Active Secret clearance with ability to obtain SAP. Must also have the ability to obtain appropriate program access. Must be able to maintain this level of clearance for continued employment
2 years' experience with identifying requirements for a major weapon system's training devices
Extensive experience in electrical engineering with a proven track record in designing and developing complex systems
Experience in leading engineering projects and teams
Experience with MS Office suite tools
Effective verbal and written communication
Experience interfacing with USG customer on training system deployment needs
Proficient evaluating DOORs and Cameo content for inclusion in training system solution
Preferred
Experience on Sentinel program
Strong teamwork skills with both immediate team and customer counterparts
Excellent interpersonal, written communication, and presentation skills, including the ability to clearly and succinctly communicate complex concepts
Experience integrating software on a large-scale DoD weapon system program
Experience analyzing weapon system software for reuse
