Marketing Analytics & Attribution Engineer
DigiChem is reshaping how new chemicals are developed and brought to market. They are seeking a contract Marketing Analytics & Attribution Engineer to design and implement their digital marketing analytics and attribution infrastructure, focusing on understanding customer acquisition and engagement.

Responsibilities
Define a clear, end-to-end attribution and analytics architecture across marketing site and application
Design and implement first-touch and last-touch attribution (UTMs, referrers, click IDs, landing pages)
Instrument client-side and server-side events in PostHog for key funnel actions (e.g. signup, quote request, order events)
Implement identity stitching from anonymous visitors to authenticated users and accounts within PostHog
Ensure acquisition context is persisted and associated with downstream product activity
Standardize tracking conventions for campaigns, ads, social posts, and content
Build a small set of canonical dashboards to validate and communicate acquisition and funnel performance
QA and validate data integrity, including edge cases like cross-session journeys and logins
Document tracking standards, attribution logic, and handoff instructions for future development
Qualification
Required
Professional experience implementing analytics, attribution, or customer data platforms in production
Strong understanding of digital marketing attribution concepts (UTMs, referrers, click IDs, first vs last touch)
Hands-on experience with PostHog (events, person properties, identity stitching, dashboards)
Proficiency in TypeScript and familiarity with modern React-based web applications
Comfortable working with both frontend instrumentation and backend/server-side event capture
Able to write clear design docs and explain tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Pragmatic mindset: focused on building a solid foundation without unnecessary complexity
Preferred
Experience integrating analytics with CRM systems (e.g. pushing attribution into tools like Attio)
Familiarity with paid ads conversion tracking (Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, etc.)
Experience designing analytics schemas that are friendly to downstream AI/LLM analysis
Exposure to lightweight data modeling or analytics engineering (dbt, warehouses, etc.)
Prior work in developer tools, SaaS, or technical B2B products
