Security and Network Administrator 1.0 FTE
Waverly Health Center is a healthcare organization seeking a Security and Network Administrator. The role involves supporting and maintaining the organization's information systems network environment, managing security risks, and providing network support to ensure reliable operations.

Responsibilities
Interact with third-party application providers to access their secure development practices
Provide assessment /audit support
Identify, analyze, monitor, and minimize areas of risk that pertain to application security
Analyze business impact and exposure based on emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and risks
Help to conduct security risk assessments and HIPAA audits
Assess the organization’s security measures, such as firewalls, anti-virus software, and passwords, to identify any weak points that might make information systems vulnerable to attack
Prioritize security coverage to ensure that strategically important data, such as commercial information or personal data, receive the highest levels of protection
Set up procedures and automated processes to monitor the status of computers and networks
Analyze reports generated by the monitoring system to identify trends that might indicate a future risk
Must stay abreast of emerging and changing security standards, regulations and requirements
Provide consultation/assessment of security risks for all new applications and perform technical security assessments
Safeguard the organization's computers, networks, and data against threats, such as security breaches, computer viruses, or attacks by cyber-criminals
Responsible for assessing learning needs and coordinating end-user security education
Maintains a highly available, reliable network. This environment includes a local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), Software Defined Wide Area Network(SDWAN), Virtual Local Area Network (VLAN), switches, routers, firewalls, wireless, the internet and other emerging technologies
Performs network administration by conferring with other information systems staff and vendors; analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements; implementing router, switch, and firewall administration that includes interface configuration, VLAN, SDWAN configuration, and routing protocols
Manage and administer application vulnerability assessment tools and interpret results
Knowledge of WAN/LAN network design and storage area network (SAN) design
Assists with network and software upgrades, maintenance, and replacements
Monitors and provides regular reporting on network performance
Adheres to the organization’s network plans, policies, and procedures as well as best practices at all times
Tests, evaluates and advises the department supervisor on requests (vendor and user) impacting the network environment
Knowledge and management of certificate authorities (CA)
Knowledge and management of identity providers
Provides timely second-tier helpdesk support for servers, databases, and storage requests
Provides backup helpdesk support as required
Provides off-hour on-call support as scheduled
Educates other information systems staff on existing desktop/helpdesk technology
Serves as a backup to the other desktop/helpdesk technicians in the Information Systems department
Works with department leadership to maintain department activity dashboard statistics
Documents server, database, storage, and network environments to ensure organizational supportability
Complete projects and tasks as assigned by the supervisor in a timely manner, as requested, and with budget constraints
Serves on hospital committees as assigned
Qualification
Required
Must possess a minimum of an Associate's Degree in Computer Science or a related field
Must have a solid understanding and knowledge of the support, and configuration of the following rating systems and databases
Microsoft Server Operating System
Active Directory administration
SAML / Multifactor Authentication
Endpoint protection
Windows Firewall
Microsoft Application Control
Palo Alto Firewall
Previous experience deploying technology is required, preferably in a healthcare setting
Must have strong general knowledge of diverse technical topics
Must possess the ability to teach and train end-users and limit dependence on him/herself
Must have strong written and oral communication skills
Ability to learn and navigate computer systems including the online training modules, the employee timesheet, and the performance appraisal system. Job-specific systems are also required
Must be able to read, speak, and write fluent English
Preferred
Certification in network management (CCNA) preferred
