Responsibilities
Utilize information from site surveys and create, review, and/or approve detailed, executable solar plan sets
Work with switchgear and transformers across various voltages (120V, 240V, 208V, 480V) and phases (single phase, three phase)
Create detailed voltage tables with voltage drop calculations and understand clipping
Utilize CAD and .dwg files for rooftop, ground mount, and carport designs
Collaborate with internal stakeholders as well as third-party vendors toward the AHJ and interconnection approval of electrical designs and plan sets
Manage and maintain relationships with third-party design and engineering resources
Ensure plan sets allow for system construction from scratch, detailing module placement, spacing, and fire rules
Apply in-depth knowledge of NEC and IBC requirements
Will have some travel for projects - on site walkthroughs (for example), not consistent or every week or month, but must be open to travel
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (required)
Minimum of 3 years of solar engineering experience in the C&I (commercial and industrial) space, specifically with projects ranging from 50kW to 5MW
Proficiency in creating executable plan sets from site survey data
Comfortable in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
Openness to sitting for exams in different jurisdictions; the client will cover exam fees and is open to paying for certifications
Preferred
Master's degree is a plus
Professional Engineer (PE) license is a plus
Experience with Aurora Solar or Helioscope is highly advantageous
