Emergency Generator Technician
The University of Virginia's Fire Protection Department is seeking an Emergency Generator Technician to support its Facilities Management. This role involves performing general mechanical maintenance and repairs on various vehicles and machinery, primarily focusing on emergency power generation systems.

Responsibilities
Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on vehicles, motors, equipment, and/or machinery
Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical problems, as required
Road test vehicles and respond to road calls for breakdowns
Oversee, train, and provide guidance to other mechanics
Maintain shop equipment, tools, and work area
Perform other job duties that may be assigned
Qualification
Required
At least one year of related experience
Virginia Commercial Driver's License Type A or B with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements may be required
Maintain a Valid State Driver's License
Must be able to perform on-call duties in a rotating schedule
Preferred
Four [4] or more years of experience related to emergency power generation systems
Manufacturer training or certification for emergency generators or power distribution equipment
Maintain a valid class A commercial Driver's license
