Responsibilities
Motivate and inspire the Engineering team by creating an environment that promotes positive communication, standard practices, and attention to detail
Serve as the subject matter expert and demonstrate the desired skills and expected work ethic to achieve goals that contribute to the growth of the organization
Plan and organize daily activities related to estimating new opportunities based on priorities from Sales team
Update management on team progress regarding new opportunities
Regularly communicates with potential customers, existing customers and sales regarding issues discovered or clarification needed to accurately estimate new opportunities
Participate in daily team huddles and communicate company announcements, policy/procedure changes, and team goals
Measure and track key performance indicators to ensure the department meets or exceeds schedule, performance, and quality targets
Answer technical questions from production and provide clarification as needed for existing jobs in process
Coordinate root cause analysis for customer’s expressing quality concerns
Collaborate with sales, production, warehouse and finance to ensure procedures for E2 utilization are optimized, standardized, and sustained to achieve company goals
Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures per the company’s protocols
Conducts regular 1 – 2 – 1 sessions with direct reports
Follows the Five S methodology at all times. Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain
Performs all other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Coaches, instructs, and leads the Engineering and Quality department members
Serves as a liaison to Sales regarding estimating status for new opportunities
Serves as a liaison to Production regarding technical aspects of jobs in process
Conducts regular 1-2-1 coaching and feedback sessions with department members
Collaborates with management to develop, implement, and communicate standard operating procedures
