Maintenance and Facilities Engineering Manager

Charles Street Talent Advisors is seeking a Maintenance & Facilities Engineering Manager responsible for leading all maintenance, facilities, and reliability activities at a single manufacturing site. This role ensures safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of production equipment, utilities, and building systems while developing a team of maintenance and facilities professionals.

Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and develop a team of maintenance technicians, facilities technicians, and supervisors to support manufacturing operations
Own preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime, reliability, and asset life
Oversee troubleshooting and resolution of complex mechanical, electrical, controls, and facilities-related issues
Manage site facilities including buildings, utilities, HVAC, compressed air, water, and energy systems
Establish and manage maintenance KPIs (uptime, MTBF, MTTR, PM compliance, maintenance cost) and drive continuous improvement
Develop and manage the maintenance and facilities budget, including labor, spare parts, contractors, and capital expenses
Lead site-level capital projects related to equipment upgrades, infrastructure improvements, and facility expansions
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements (OSHA, EPA, local codes, etc.)
Partner with Operations and Engineering on equipment installation, commissioning, and process improvements
Manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, and service providers
Support root cause analysis (RCA) and reliability improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and recurring failures
Champion lean manufacturing, TPM, and reliability best practices across the site

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related engineering discipline)
5+ years of progressive experience in maintenance, facilities, or reliability leadership within a manufacturing environment
Proven experience leading and developing maintenance and facilities teams at a plant level
Strong knowledge of industrial equipment, utilities, and building systems
Experience managing budgets, capital projects, and external contractors
Working knowledge of CMMS systems and maintenance planning best practices
Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
