The Salvation Army is seeking a Director of Development to oversee donor development and financial support for their programs. The role involves planning and coordinating fundraising initiatives, managing public relations, and serving as a liaison for grant proposals.

Responsibilities

Contacts individuals, businesses, corporations, and organizations (Civic such as Rotary, Lions, etc.) and solicits funds to support The Salvation Army programs
Plans, develops and coordinates fund raising programs to increase revenue such as: special events, giving clubs, lapsed donor and acquisition of new donors
Coordinates and prepares for timely submission of all grant proposals, as well as subsequent reports required by grants awarded
Plans, develops, coordinates and monitors all programs involved with receipting contributions, thank you letters, donor appreciation, and information (newsletters)

Required

Plans, develops and coordinates all phases of donor development and the solicitation of financial support for The Salvation Army programs and services for the Corps
Plans, develops and coordinates public relation programs with the media, private and public sector organizations and churches
Serves as liaison to the Divisional Headquarters Planned Giving Department
Contacts individuals, businesses, corporations, and organizations (Civic such as Rotary, Lions, etc.) and solicits funds to support The Salvation Army programs
Plans, develops and coordinates fund raising programs to increase revenue such as: special events, giving clubs, lapsed donor and acquisition of new donors
Coordinates and prepares for timely submission of all grant proposals, as well as subsequent reports required by grants awarded
Plans, develops, coordinates and monitors all programs involved with receipting contributions, thank you letters, donor appreciation, and information (newsletters)
Limited amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting and carrying light objects (less than 25 lbs.) 5-10% of work time
Duties are usually performed seated. Sitting may be relieved by brief or occasional periods of standing or walking
Work is performed in a normal office environment where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like
