Responsibilities
Responsible for technical approval of structural aspects of aircraft modification and repairs, including drawings and substantiation reports
Responsible for coordinating certification activities with other structures Unit Members, other disciplines in the certification team, and with the engineering organizations seeking certification
Must be able to travel as required (estimated 10% or less)
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree IN Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience, OR Graduate degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience, OR in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 16 years of prior related experience
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD SECRET security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship
Preferred
Current FAA delegations in the structures discipline as either a DER or an ODA Unit Member
Experience with both metallic and composite structure
Experience with both civil certification and military certification
