Ensure that contractors comply with specifications, standards and codes for public construction projects by performing on-site inspections on highway, street, bridge, water and waste water systems facilities or other complex construction projects

Required

Have graduated from an accredited high school or possession of a GED certificate
Have four years of experience in performing construction inspection work in one of the following areas: highways, streets, bridges or water and sewer system facilities
A valid Maryland Class C Noncommercial driver's license, or an equivalent out-of-state driver's license acceptable to the Office of Risk Management may be required
Knowledge of construction methods and procedures
Knowledge of concrete mixing and pouring
Knowledge of City construction codes and specifications
Ability to inspect construction projects to ensure compliance with construction specifications, standards and codes
Ability to complete routine forms and reports and maintain a daily inspection log
Ability to perform routine field tests on construction materials
Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with others
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to train new employees
