Assistant/Associate/Full Teaching Professor – Mechanical & Industrial Engineering/Semiconductor – Oakland
Northeastern University is seeking outstanding individuals for a full-time non-tenure-track faculty position in the Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering, focusing on Semiconductor Engineering. The role involves teaching courses related to the Master of Science in Semiconductor Engineering Program and engaging in curriculum development and student advising.
Education
Responsibilities
Teaching courses related to the Master of Science (MS) in Semiconductor Engineering Program with the materials and manufacturing concentration
Teaching core MIE courses such as Introduction to Micro- and Nano-manufacturing, Semiconductor Materials, Micro-Electro-Mechanical System (MEMS), and other semiconductor engineering courses
Engaging in educational interaction with students in roles including traditional instruction (lecture courses, lab courses), curriculum development, and student advising
Initiating and undertaking research and service activities, including advising undergraduate and graduate students, student recruiting, e-learning, educational research, as well as professional publications and presentations
Qualification
Required
A PhD in Mechanical Engineering, or Materials Science and Engineering, or another related discipline by the appointment start date is required
Teaching experience is required
Candidates should have demonstrated experience in semiconductor engineering and related sub-areas
Excellent written and oral communication skills are required
Preferred
Industrial experience is desirable but not required
