Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end design of SAP GTS FTZ solutions, including FTZ admission, inventory management, status tracking, and zone-to-zone transfers
Translate trade compliance and customs requirements into scalable system design, functional specifications, and configuration
Configure SAP GTS components such as: FTZ processes, Trade Preference Management, Customs Management, Tariff classification and duty calculation
Partner with technical teams to design and validate interfaces, EDI mappings, and integration with SAP S/4HANA or ECC
Provide expert-level functional configuration and troubleshooting for GTS FTZ modules
Guide development teams on enhancements, user exits, BAdIs, and custom objects
Ensure FTZ solution compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and global customs authorities
Support data migration, testing cycles, and cutover planning
Serve as the primary contact for business stakeholders across Trade Compliance, Logistics, Supply Chain, and Finance
Facilitate workshops, requirement sessions, and design reviews with cross-functional teams
Provide leadership and guidance throughout UAT, training, and post‑go‑live stabilization
Analyze trade workflows and provide recommendations to optimize tariff and duty management processes
Lead project workstreams and coordinate deliverables across functional and technical teams
Develop documentation including Functional Specs, Design Documents, Process Flows, and Test Scripts
Ensure alignment with global template standards, architecture principles, and compliance policies
Support strategic roadmap planning for global trade automation and FTZ expansion
Qualification
Required
Minimum 6+ years SAP GTS experience with strong Customs Management and Trade Compliance knowledge
Must have successfully implemented SAP GTS Free Trade Zone (FTZ) capabilities in at least one full lifecycle project
Strong understanding of: Duty deferral processes, Tariff classification, Bonded inventory management, Inbound/outbound customs processes, CBP regulations
Experience integrating GTS with SAP ECC or S/4HANA
Ability to lead business workshops and work confidently with executive and operational stakeholders
Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills
Preferred
SAP GTS Certification
Experience with global trade programs such as: Preferential Trade Agreements, Export Control, eCustoms interfaces
Experience working with 3PLs, brokers, and FTZ operator systems
Knowledge of global customs regulations (EU, APAC, LATAM) is a plus
