5+ years expARi is a rapidly expanding global engineering enterprise headquartered in East Peoria, IL. They are seeking a highly skilled Drivetrain Design Engineer to design and develop drivetrain systems for heavy-duty machinery, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with standards.

Responsibilities
Design and develop drivetrain systems including transmissions, axles, differentials, final drives, and torque converters
Conduct system- and component-level analysis for durability, performance, and efficiency
Execute design calculations and performance analysis related to gear trains, load paths, and bearing selection
Conduct tolerance stack-ups, DFMEA, and contribute to DVP&R planning
Interface with validation teams for bench and vehicle-level testing of drivetrain assemblies
Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing engineers to ensure feasibility and cost-effectiveness of designs
Ensure compliance with performance, emissions, and regulatory standards
Support field investigations, root cause analysis, and design revisions as needed
Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and new technologies in drivetrain systems
Qualification
Required
5+ years of expertise in the design and development of drivetrain systems for heavy-duty machinery or off-highway vehicles
Expertise in gear design, bearings, lubrication, castings, and rotating components
Proficiency in 3D CAD software (Creo preferred), GD&T, and tolerance analysis
Solid understanding of drivetrain system integration and mechanical dynamics
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in drivetrain or powertrain component design
