The Greater Kansas City Community Foundation is seeking a detail-oriented Accounting Associate to help ensure the accuracy and efficiency of their financial operations. The role involves processing contributions, managing financial records, and collaborating with internal teams to resolve questions related to grants and payments.

Responsibilities

Print and distribute AP voucher, grant, and scholarship checks, reconciling daily and preparing files for approval
Enter and process contributions, payments, and financial transfers in our accounting systems
Scan and deposit daily checks, manage mail workflow, and maintain accurate electronic records
Create and update profiles in financial software, apply basic 1099 rules, and obtain W-9s for vendor payments
Collaborate with internal teams to resolve grant and payment questions
Support year-end operations with full availability during the fourth quarter to meet critical deadlines

Qualification

Accounting software proficiencyMicrosoft ExcelAttention to detailProblem-solving skillsCommunication skillsTeam collaboration

Required

Associate degree with at least two years of related experience, or equivalent education and experience (accounting background a plus)
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and a high aptitude for learning new software
Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to interpret instructions and procedures
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
