Responsibilities
Responsible for technical approval of structural aspects of aircraft modification and repairs, including drawings and substantiation reports
Responsible for coordinating certification activities with other structures Unit Members, other disciplines in the certification team, and with the engineering organizations seeking certification
Responsible for reviewing engineering drawings and reports to determine compliance with applicable criteria, including coordination with engineering to address deficiencies
Must be able to travel as required (estimated 10% or less)
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship
Must be able to work overtime as required
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 9 years of prior relevant experience, OR Graduate degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience, OR in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of prior related experience
Must be able to travel as required (estimated 10% or less)
Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship
Must be able to work overtime as required
Preferred
Preferred degree majors: Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering or related field
Preferred to have current FAA delegations in the structures discipline as either a DER or an ODA Unit Member
Experience with both metallic and composite structure is preferred
Experience with both civil certification and military certification is preferred
