Network & Voice Systems Engineer

TeleSource, Inc. is seeking a Network & Voice Systems Engineer to support enterprise voice and network environments while serving as a key technical resource for internal IT systems. The role involves troubleshooting VoIP issues, supporting PBX platforms, and assisting with internal IT responsibilities, all while gaining exposure to complex environments and working directly with customers and vendors.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot VoIP call quality issues, including jitter, latency, packet loss, and RTP timing
Analyze packet captures across PBX, firewall, and endpoint to identify root cause
Work with SD-WAN, firewall, ISP, and carrier teams to resolve network path issues
Support and maintain PBX platforms (FreeSWITCH/FusionPBX or similar), SIP trunks, codecs, and routing
Participate in customer calls during incidents, escalations, and post-incident reviews
Clearly explain technical findings to customers in plain language
Support routed and switched networks (VLANs, routing, NAT, QoS)
Assist with firewall analysis and configuration (Palo Alto, Netskope or equivalent)
Apply QoS principles for real-time traffic
Assist with WAN circuit turn-ups, testing, and vendor coordination
Help document and improve network and voice designs
Serve as a technical resource for internal office IT, including:
End-user devices
Local networking
Basic server and VM environments
Identity and access systems
Support internal staff with escalated technical issues
Help standardize internal IT processes and documentation

Required

Experience in networking, VoIP, and IT infrastructure
Solid understanding of TCP/IP, UDP, routing, VLANs
Working knowledge of SIP and RTP fundamentals
Familiarity with firewalls and NAT behavior
Comfortable using tools such as Wireshark, ping, traceroute, and tcpdump
Experience in a customer-facing technical role
Strong written and verbal communication skills
