Responsibilities
Turning messy, real-world dining language into structured intent and constraints
Designing multi-turn conversations that ask one smart clarifying question when needed
Building intent/slot/state logic that reliably routes to search, graph, vector, or fallback tools
Reducing hallucinations and brittle behavior through structure, confidence rules, and evaluation
Creating a lightweight evaluation loop so quality improves week over week
Intent + slot extraction schemas (vibe, budget, distance, time, party size, dietary, etc.)
Dialogue state handling (“that one”, “near me”, “tomorrow night”)
Dining language normalization (slang, synonyms, vibe mapping)
Automated test cases for conversational quality and regressions
Qualification
Required
Has direct experience building conversational AI, chat systems, or LLM-driven interfaces
Has implemented structured outputs, validation, and tool/function calling
Has designed or worked with evaluation/test sets for AI quality (even simple ones)
Thinks about how conversations feel, not just whether they 'work'
Can explain tradeoffs between asking a clarifying question vs making an assumption
Strong Python
Experience shipping LLM features into production environments
Comfort working with structured prompts (JSON), parsing, and failure recovery
Familiarity with retrieval-augmented generation or search-backed AI systems
Preferred
Food or dining experience is a strong plus
Curiosity about human language is required
