Associate Accounting Analyst
The California Department of Health Care Access and Information is committed to ensuring healthcare access for Californians. They are seeking an Associate Accounting Analyst to perform complex accounting duties and support various financial processes within the department.

Responsibilities
Independently performs the more difficult accounting duties which requires strong organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills and understanding of the entire accounting processes which include but not limited to reviewing proposals to change accounting procedures, preparing expenditure analysis reports for management and assist in completion of the year-end accrual activities
Successfully complete quality work assignments and meets deadlines, as required
Ability to be flexible and adaptable to frequent workload changes based on organizational priorities and work under pressure for time-sensitive, high priority projects
Performs in a lead capacity and will exercise moderate control in the administration of established policies and procedures, and has ongoing contact with management, control agencies, other government offices, vendors, and members of the public

Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment

Official sealed transcripts will be required upon appointment

Current version of the State Examination/Employment Application STD Form 678 (when not applying electronically), or the Electronic State Employment Application through your Applicant Account at www.CalCareers.ca.gov

A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) must be submitted along with your application addressing the questions below and following the instruction of the SOQ in order to be considered for this position (Resumes do not take the place of the SOQ)
Your SOQ must list the questions and the responses
The SOQ should be no more than two pages in length and 12-point Arial font
Preferred
Experience with the Accounts Payable process, including Office Revolving Fund, and analyzing reports containing financial data
Experience working with any of the state accounting systems (i.e., CalATERS, FI$Cal)
Responsibilities for month-end and year-end closing activities
Experience with drafting and maintaining procedural documentation
