Responsibilities
Develop and maintain databases across the organization while ensuring high levels of data availability
Evaluate and advise on technology components such as software, hardware, and networking capabilities for database management systems and applications
Design and deploy data table structures, forms, reports, and queries
Conduct research and make recommendations on database products, services, protocols, and standards
Apply third-party upgrades to existing databases
Identify inefficiencies in current databases and investigate solutions
Diagnose and resolve database access and performance issues
Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems
Develop, implement, and maintain change control and testing processes for modifications to databases
Ensure all database systems meet business and performance requirements
Produce ad-hoc queries and develop reports to support business needs
Create and maintain technical documentation
Qualification
Required
Degree in computer science, engineering, management information systems, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
Expertise in mobile-first API development, including secure and scalable REST/JSON or GraphQL APIs optimized for mobile consumption
Experience in cloud-native backend engineering, including developing and operating backend services in a cloud environment such as AWS
Strong knowledge of performance, security, and scalability, including low-latency responses, data protection, encryption, and scalability for growing mobile usage
Senior-level experience (greater than 8 years)
