Senior Level, Lead/StaffMad is a creative company that values collaboration and innovation. They are seeking a Senior 3D Lead to guide their 3D and immersive capabilities while being hands-on in producing high-quality 3D work across various projects.

Responsibilities
Lead and own the 3D discipline at Mad, setting creative, technical, and quality standards
Act as a hands-on senior contributor, executing complex 3D work from concept through final delivery
Accurately estimate effort, hours, and timelines for 3D and immersive projects
Guide creative and technical decisions across multiple projects, ensuring consistency and excellence
Collaborate with designers, engineers, and producers to bring ideas to life in a customer-driven environment
Mentor and support other 3D artists, providing direction, feedback, and technical guidance
Help evolve workflows, pipelines, and best practices for 3D, real-time, and immersive work
Partner with Production and Operations to scope work, plan resources, and assess feasibility
Create high-quality 3D models of products, environments, architecture, characters, and props aligned with art direction, deadlines, and technical constraints
Rig and animate characters, vehicles, and props
Set up models, shaders, lighting, and scenes for path-traced and real-time rendering, including Unreal Engine
Develop and optimize interactive and playable VR/AR experiences
Review work produced by other artists and ensure visual, technical, and performance standards are met
Stay current with emerging tools, technologies, and techniques, helping Mad remain at the forefront of immersive production
Qualification
Required
Proven senior-level experience in a creative 3D studio or agency environment
Strong portfolio demonstrating advanced 3D artistry, real-time work, and creative problem-solving
Expert proficiency in Maya, Unreal Engine, V-Ray, Substance Painter, and Adobe Suite
Excellent understanding of real-time rendering techniques and optimization
Experience leading projects, mentoring artists, or acting as a technical/creative reference for a team
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines
Comfortable giving and receiving constructive feedback
Preferred
Experience in AR/VR/XR and/or game design is a strong plus
