Responsibilities
Own day-to-day accounting functions — verify, allocate, post, and reconcile accounts
Deliver accurate, insightful financial reports and present key findings
Analyze complex financial data and distill it into actionable insights
Identify errors, inefficiencies, or cost-saving opportunities, and recommend improvements
Assess and enhance existing accounting systems and internal procedures
Lead and mentor accounting assistants and bookkeepers — assign, manage, and review their work
Prepare accurate financial statements and assist with tax audits and returns
Take charge of the month-end and year-end close processes
Develop and document robust financial processes to support internal controls
Ensure full compliance with US GAAP principles
Qualification
Required
Proven experience as an accountant in a professional setting
Strong knowledge of US GAAP and accounting best practices
Hands-on experience with QuickBooks and/or Xero
Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables)
Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience in leading or collaborating with bookkeeping staff
